Initially focused on breast cancer screening and NSCLC early detection in patients at risk. Both BreastSeek™ and LungSeek™ test are not available for clinical purposes yet but are in the clinical validation processes.
BreastSeek™
Breast Cancer screening
Breast cancers is the major cause of cancer death for women (15%). Although mammography remains the most cost-effective approach for breast cancer screening, it is shows limitation in specificity especially in women in the age range of 40-59 years. In fact, in this population a false positive rate in excess of 12% with digital mammography screening often lead to unnecessary additional imaging and breast biopsies.
Over-diagnosis and over treatment are not only a source of distress, scarring, disfigurement, long-lasting anxiety and but also add a significant financial burden to the health system. BreastSeek™ from a single blood draw provides high sensitivity and specificity reducing the false positive cases by 73%
LungSeek™
Lung Cancer Screening
Lung cancer is the major cause of cancer death for men (22%). Low dose computed tomography (LDCT), current gold standard, has significant drawbacks including radiation exposure, high false-positive rates (96%), and thus a risk of over-diagnosis and over treatment. Moreover, the radiation from CT scans gives rise to long-term risk for some cancers.
LungSeek™ test used in patients with a positive screening CT scan will better define the at-risk population, with the result of enhancing diagnosis specificity decreasing patient anxiety and reducing the need for repeated CT and invasive procedures induced by false-positive nodules.
